These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HuddleBooks website and platform (the "Service") operated by HuddleBooks ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or otherwise using HuddleBooks, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization (such as a hockey team or association), you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Account Responsibilities
When you create an account with HuddleBooks, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with others
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
- Use the Service only for managing legitimate youth sports team finances
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account. HuddleBooks is designed for use by adults managing youth sports team finances.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Use the Service for any purpose other than managing youth sports team finances
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with a team or association
4. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, code, and content, is owned by HuddleBooks and is protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our written permission.
Your data belongs to you. You retain all ownership rights to the financial data you enter into HuddleBooks. We do not claim ownership of your team's financial records. You may export your data at any time in standard formats.
5. Service Availability
We strive to keep HuddleBooks available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime in advance.
6. Fees & Payment
HuddleBooks offers both free trial and paid subscription plans. Pricing details are available on our website. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees. We reserve the right to change our pricing with reasonable notice to existing subscribers.
Founding Partners receive free access for the 2026-27 season as described in their enrolment communications. These terms will be honoured as specified.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:
- The Service will meet all of your specific requirements
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free
- The results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable
HuddleBooks is a financial management tool, not a financial advisor. We do not provide accounting, tax, or legal advice. Users are responsible for ensuring their team's financial practices comply with applicable laws and their association's policies.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HuddleBooks and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may close your account and stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, you will have a reasonable period to export your data before it is deleted from our systems.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, or if required by law. We will provide notice where possible before taking such action.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
