Built by a Hockey Parent, for Hockey Teams

Like most hockey parents, I've written a lot of cheques to a lot of teams. Registration fees, tournament fees, ice time, equipment — the numbers add up fast. And like most parents, I trusted the treasurer and the board to handle those funds responsibly.

But trust isn't a financial control. I started asking questions that should have had easy answers: Where did the money go? Who approved that expense? Why is the budget different from what we were told at the start of the season? The answers weren't always clear — not because anyone was doing anything wrong, but because the tools didn't exist to make transparency easy.

Most teams run their finances on spreadsheets, personal bank accounts, and good intentions. Associations require dual signatures and financial reporting, but there's no system to verify that any of it actually happens. Treasurers are volunteers doing their best with tools that weren't built for the job.
